A Human Paradise

"There’s no place like home." 

Just like that quote, we humans have our home, and that home is named Earth. The earth is the most blessed planet created by God. This planet has the right measurements to sustain life.

Imagine a life at Saturn, we would live there with its rings, is it possible for us to survive there with all those rings? A life at Neptune where the surroundings were just bodies of water and there are no landforms that exist. A life at Pluto where it seems very dark because it was very far from the light emitted by the sun. A life at Venus where it is so cloudy and volcanoes kept on erupting gases that could harm a human. We could only live on earth, with its right amount of atmosphere, abundant landmasses, and vast oceans that are suitable for mankind to survive.

  

The Earth is the Fifth planet from the sun. It is the fifth largest among the eight planets in the Solar System. It is formed 4.5 billion years ago and it took one billion years before life appeared on it. It has layers called the core, the mantle, and the crust. The core is the center where it is the hottest part, above that, there is the mantle where big boulders of rocks were lying comfortably with each other. and the third is the Crust. 

The Crust is the most interesting part of the Earth. It is irregularly shaped and lots of things can be discovered. There are Different species of plants that colored the earth green. These plants are eaten by animals. Animals are the species that are lurking around the earth. Animals also had the special specie called humans.

Humans Are the stewards of the Earth. They are the ones that manage it. Somehow, even humans have the capability to manage the Earth well, sometimes they tend to hurt the Earth. The industrialization most particularly , affected the Earth. Why? Because of the pollution that can destroy the balance in the ecosystem of the Earth. 

The Earth is really blessed to have the most beautiful gift. And that is LIFE, We as a human being have to be responsible enough. We can do it from step one, like picking up a trash from trash from a sidewalk. And we should always remember the three R's Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. From that, we could make a better change.

Life beyond our imagination

Narnia, Hogwarts, Oz, This three world of fantasies have clicked through almost all ages. A human being is given the right gift such as imagination, and these three worlds are one of the great examples of how humans used that skill.I as a human had my imagination beyond my height I even wondered if ghosts exits and things like that. Even scientists wondered if there are other organisms, or shall we say creatures that could be compared to a human in the outer space. If life exists in other galaxies.they even called them E.T or extra terrestrial beings.


Extra terrestrial. came from the latin word exta "beyond" and terrestris " of belonging to earth". They originated  not from the earth but on other life forms on outside the earth. Alien life forms are what they are commonly called or just simply Aliens. This organisms were believed to be bacterial like organisms or maybe they were more advanced than humans.


Scientists conduct studies about them and called it exobiology or astrobiology. Some scientists consider extraterrestrial life to be possible, but the scientific community currently doesn't recognize the thought that these organisms exist, there are evidences found, but those things were not just enough to conclude their existence.


There were locations that are believed to have developed life, or which had its lifeforms even before earth had its lifeforms. Planets Venus and Mars, Jupiter's moon Europa, and Saturn's moons Titan and Enceladus are believed to have ET organisms. They are believed to have the most habitable spot for Aliens.

For now, we only have evidences in relation to them but maybe someday, we can conclude that they were true and somehow  maybe we can communicate to them.

Coral reefs and Mangroves : A sanctuary for all

As we humans have our villages that served as our community, marine animals and other creatures found below the water has its "villages" called coral reefs and mangroves. Just like us, they build their families there and it is where they belong.

If there are rainforests in the land corals served as Rainforests in the sea too. Thousands or more species of marine animals were  sheltered and taken cared of in the coral reefs and mangrove sanctuaries.

Benefits of coral reefs and mangrove sanctuaries does not only limit on marine creatures, but  we humans have our own benefits with corals too. Just like what Miss Charlene Gonzales answered when she was asked during the 1994 Miss Universe contest: " How many islands are there in the Philippines?" she replied "High tide or Low tide?" because there are islands that would not survive or rather they would be gone without coral reefs. As you see Coral reefs protect the shorelines by absorbing wave energy, and many small islands would not exist without their reef to protect them.

Mangroves and Coral reefs were also important for sustaining life or subsistence,thus without coral reefs and mangroves, people probably, or in fact can't devour the luscious sea-foods that completes the food pyramid. 

In tourism,they provide beautiful scenery, that would make no one to be less appreciative of its beauty.

And lastly they are important to the formulation of new medicines that as we all know very important to cure a disease.

We people have to be more appreciative not only in the worldly lures we have but also we must appreciate what nature had given us, just like the fishes in the sea lets take care of our environment to preserve it for the next generations to come. 

Hydrosphere: How best water can be used when times abound and when it is as scarce as gold

The surface of the Earth is made up of two parts: 28 % land and 72% water.The water part has another term called Hydrosphere, which came from the greek words: Hydor means water and Sphaira meaning sphere. The study of water is called hydrology which deals with oceans, lakes, seas, streams, rivers, springs and etc. that embraces with the word "Water" (in short, LIFE).

Our Earth had been blessed to have a healthy Hydrosphere given by the Almighty God.  Water had its subdivisions which includes geological, biological, chemical, and physical subdivisions, that made the hydrosphere.

The Geological part of the hydrosphere refers to the part which we can see the shore and ocean floor it served as the basin of the earth as it holds up the water that circulates endlessly.

The chemical subdivision of the hydrosphere talks about the chemical properties which can be found in the water that can be used to sustain life or rather oftenly present in the water that maintain the balance in the ecosystem.

The Physical part of the hydrosphere speaks for the waves, and movements of water. There is a study called Physical Oceanography that enhances and researches about the benefits of it, an example of that was there were discoveries that the waves and temperature of the water transmits energy, and the discovery that the water penetrates light and sounds.

 And the most important part in the hydrosphere subdivision is the Biological subdivision. It concerns for the life that lives underwater.It tells about the interellationship of marine life, their life cycles, and how the marine animals and creatures behave in their own ecosystem. This portion also provides the greatest benefit of hydrosphere to humans, without it we cannot eat fish and other marine products, and also we could not discover that marine life should be cherished and preserved because of its own wonders.

It is at this juncture that hydrosphere has the greatest contribution in our daily life.  Farming, industry, and total population needs it for without it, everything turns into a mess.

The abundance of water was negated by the unbalance distribution of rainfall throughout the year.  It resulted to excessive runoff, soil erosion and flooding and water scarcity for human consumption and crop production during the dry season.

The creator had intrusted it to us, but because human beings has no satisfaction, we had despised it.  Excessive used of chemical in the huge plantations, throwing of garbage in the rivers, illegal fishing in the seas, applications of Mercury in the processing of gold in the mines, all of those activities has negated and jeopardizes our natural sources of water.  When it is abundant, people were hardworking distroying it.    So time will come we will all suffer the consequences  . . . . When we will treasure every drop of it like gold. . . . .

Technology: Pros or Cons?

Technology this is one of the products of the bright minds of scientists and inventors that had a great effect on our everyday life; from the moment we wake up in the morning up until we lay our backs in our comfortable bed at night.It had been a solution to almost all problems that concerned in many aspects of life, health, environment, education and lots of those aspects that need to be improved. and by the term called technology, there was a great improvement made for the best.
Scientists have developed a number of new inventions that helped and innovated the daily life of an individual be it on urban or rural areas.


In Education, lots of facts have been transmitted to the Internet-- a product of technology-- that we can use in our subjects that our teachers were giving us in school, like information about the heavenly bodies, English grammar, and how to solve a problem your assignment in Algebra. Google had also been the new encyclopedia for students, whenever someone asked " what is this word" someone would say " Look it up on Google" instead of saying "Go search for a dictionary."   funny how it became a habit but I, for one had the lazy attitude like that, even online tutorials had an appeal to those who wanted to learn for free, I had even tried a guitar lesson tutorial in Youtube that helped me in our variety show presentation. We could have a new stored knowledge by using the net.


In terms of Healthcare, technology had been a great help in curing a patient. As an evidence most of the  works done in the hospital and even in making the prescribed drugs that we take would not be successfully done without the help of technology, and recently, there were surgical operations that  are computer manipulated that gave an ease to the pain of the patient.


The Environment has been also partly developed by technology, sightings of fossil remains of Dinosaurs who had been extinct a billion years ago was discovered. The sources of energies had never been discovered without the use of technology thus, we could not have a bright side at night without those lamp posts that was powered by energy companies through technology .


But does technology takes always the positive side? What about its Disadvantages? Do we see it? Or are we blinded because of the pleasure that we get from it?


We need to know it by now. the reason? Maybe we have misinterpreted the real purpose of scientists in sharing the public their masterpiece . For instance like we people usually do. We tend to be fascinated easily and we like it to be a part of our daily life like we have it since birth and our day wouldn't be complete if we can't see or use it in a day.We used the technology  excessively that it could be called abusive. We tend to use it even when it is unnecessary, and the result?  Our innocent act was slowly affecting our community. Well to be honest, not only the community but also mother nature.


Flash floods, Typhoons, Global warming, these are one of the few destructive upshots that our little perversion had led. Even in our locality, we can sight some examples for that. The flashflood that happened in Matina, Davao City, the landslide in Valencia bukidnon and overflow of Rio grande de Mindanao that destroyed properties and killed a number of persons.


The majestic mountains that reaches high above the ground were bit-by-bit sliced up to make a benefit from those minerals contained in them, for example copper and silver that are used in telephone wires and other appliances -- from simple blasting to high-tech drilling---. Sometimes, tunnels were built to extract natural treasures  and to do that, chemicals were used -again from from grinding to cocktail of chemicals--, and we have no idea how great it would affect our environment. It could eventually turn our Blue and crystal clear waters into dark, as the ravens' color.  Where is now the Paradise that we inherit?  will that only remain in the Bible?


All of those had happened not because nature wanted to crack a joke or something on people, but for us to realize that we should minimize our possession over material things. I am not saying that we should not patronize the technological products and practices, but let us also consider both the Advantage and Disadvantages of that " technology".
